grab your axe lumberjack! climb up trees in a platformer that uses your mic!
This is a game that uses your microphone as input. If you're loud enough, the character will move right. If you're quiet, the character will move left. Aim for the branches. If you hit the bottom, you lose.
This game uses you microphone so find a quiet place! If you're listening to music, headphones are recommended. Threshold is set pretty low so other sounds will interfere with gameplay.
Browser Compatibility: Chrome 45+ Firefox 39+
Will not work in IE or Safari.
Game Instructions: to move right, make a lot of noise! to move left, keep quiet!
Climb as high as you can. If you hit the bottom, you lose.

Haha, I played this much longer than I expected to! There's something about timing the sounds to the movements that makes this challenging in a fun way.
I wish that your score showed up on the end screen though.
Had a lot of fun playing, great work!

Interesting take on doodle jump, really fun to play! Wish there was an alt non-audio option.

Very entertaining, only the neighbors did not bore my screams.
Try our entry too, the evaluation will be welcome.

This is a very fun/interesting idea that has a lot of potential. I could see it used for more than entertainment too if you're able to analyze the sounds in more detail than just volume (think games that help with pronunciation, singing etc). With a decent mic and/or some calibration up front this could be really cool.
In the current incarnation it was a bit spastic. The character was moving way too fast for me to be able to go longer than about 10 seconds, so maybe you could have it get progressively harder as you play. I also had trouble with the character continually moving to the right 1-2 seconds after I made noise, even though I'm in a very quiet room. It is a fun idea but was hard to get into because it ended so quickly each time. Cool idea though!
